Start. Nobody is watching

A lot of people want to do something in life that makes them feel fulfilled, happy, creative, giving.

Most of the best things take time to build. Usually a long time. Starting (and maybe failing, or quitting) early is usually a good strategy.

Unless the purpose of the thing is purely to get attention, when you start, nobody is watching.

Something that prevents a lot of us from starting is the fear of what other people - friends, family, peers, the world on social media - will think of us if we do the thing. We have a tendency to overestimate the attention that others place on us - often called the Spotlight Effect.

The reality is that most people won't notice what you are doing. This is especially true when you are starting out (you haven't done anything significant for other people to notice).

Now, with this knowledge - go forth into the world and start the thing. Nobody is watching.
