Prescribing personal values without teaching people how to develop their own, how to evaluate individual values and systems, or respecting the right to different points of view is dangerous.

Our society is built on systems of values. Nations, religions, communities, and households regularly employ stories using symbols and abstraction to strengthen these values and identity among people within their proximity. Some are more prescriptive than others.

If people start to feel dissonance or awaken from their hypnosis, the prescription of values has the potential to create mass identity crises among their populations.

A feeling of unease is often your true personal values calling you home.
