Some observations from writing online
My writing is largely for me, but there are a number of benefits I have found to building a website and sharing my reflections publicly, online.
- I can access my writing anywhere (that has internet access) without carrying around journals.
- I have built my entire website from scratch - I learned a new skill in the process as I had zero coding experience.
- Building my own website allows me to structure information in flexible ways, that is most useful for me.
- It is satisfying to feel like I'm building something, and being creative.
- It has helped me dampen my fear of publicly sharing my thoughts or ideas.
- The potential for my writing to resonate with other people in the process logically means that it is more valuable to share.
- If my writing doesn't resonate, then I have something to learn from that.
- All of the above points keep me motivated to continue and be consistent.
