Cortisol

Insights:

  1. Stress is the body's natural response to potential danger. Cortisol is released to get the body 'charged up' to face challenges. This is a natural and healthy response when we used to live in hostile environments.
  2. Constant notifications and reminders can be perceived as threats that need to be dealt with by releasing lower levels of cotisol. Low doses of cortisol released regularly can harm the body.

Epictetus

  1. It is important to find the pace or best timing that works for you. What is important is to complete each cycle of focused work.

  1. Commit to focusing on a single task.

Zeno of Citium

Bio:

  1. Zeno began studying philosophy with the Cynics. Cynicism did not give Zeno a sense of well-being so founded the school of Stoicism. Taught that there is nothing wrong with enjoying life's pleasures, as long as they do not take control of your life, and you are prepared for them to disappear.

Insights:

  1. One goal of stoicism, taught but Zeno, is to eliminate negative emotions.
